Why Writing for News Break Just Got a Lot Harder
But Possibly It Got More Rewarding
Do you write for News Break?
Quite a few of us have.
News Break began a new program to attract writers late last year and, as a result, got a glut of new writers. Most of us got what they called an early-bird special, an excellent incentive to start writing there. I won’t go into the details. If you got it, you know what I’m talking about. If you didn’t, it’s too late.
All the worms are gone.
Then a couple of months into the deal, News Break changed things. Again, they came up with a new contract. And again, a bunch of us took advantage.
And again, it’s probably too late if you didn’t.
There were several good reasons to write for News Break, in addition to having another basket in which to place our literary eggs.
But for many of us, one of the attractions was the low-hanging fruit we could take advantage of.
Okay, worms, eggs, fruit; I’ll stop with the agricultural metaphors.
